About us
Little Island

Little Island Community Association is a voluntary organisation working to improve the sense of community within Little Island near Cork. It was formed in the mid 1970's and its members are made of the local population of 2,000 residents. One of our main aims is to involve our young people living locally in sporting and recreational activities, and also to involve our wider community in social activities and enhancement of our environment, through projects like tidy towns. In 1986 the local community together with local industries undertook the development of a large indoor sports complex to benefit both the local community and employees working on Little Island.

The complex has large indoor sports floor, smaller gym hall and three meeting rooms available for hire to clubs and voluntary bodies. Currently we have employee grant funding from Pobal (who manage Irish government funding schemes) and we wish to acknowledge their contribution towards our running costs.

Our Complex caters for sports users such as basketball, indoor soccer, athletics, gymnastics, tennis, rollerblading, taekwon-do, in-line hockey, and kids skating. We cater for local resident activities such as for bowls, bingo, historical meetings, tidy towns, prayer groups, youth clubs etc
